Fun Stuff

I weighed myself for the first time in a month. I lost 5 lbs and an inch off my hips! Woohoo! I'm not really trying to lose weight, I exercise to help myself de-stress and sleep better at night but I have to admit I love that I lost weight and that my clothes fit better. No worries to anyone, I eat a ton, as Will can vouch for from this weekend!
The weekend was full of good food and lots of it! Friday we had homemade pizza. We had to make 2 pieces because both the kids and Will and I were extra hungry. The kids usually get a head start on Will and I on eating and usually run off to play while we eat and have a chance to chat. William almost always comes back to help me eat his favorite things. This happened again Saturday morning when William decided he wanted more eggs so he came over to help me finish off mine. After breakfast it was time to go off to a Deaf Easter Lunch in White River Junction. It was a lot of fun to see people that I haven't talked to in awhile.
Usually when I go to Deaf events Lochlan (Nick and Keri's son) gets my full attention whenever he wants. We usually run around, causing trouble and I help him get food ahead of everyone else. This year though William was at my side and Lochlan was a bit taken aback and jealous. William also was a bit possessive and when I was holding Lochlan's baby brother, William came over and asked me to hold him. Will, Keri and I talked about us staying with them whenever we decide to come up to Burlington to visit after I move and Will and I offered his/our place whenever they needed to come down to Brattleboro.

After the lunch (where we ate two helpings of ham, potatoes and veggies each) we were off to Massachusetts to spend the night at Will's mom's and her boyfriend's house. We arrived and were immediately greeted by their new puppy (chocolate lab named Emma) and their other 2 dogs. It was fun having a wiggly puppy around and we were impressed by how well trained Emma was already for only being 10 weeks old. We stuffed ourselves full again on chips and guacamole and then tacos for dinner.

Sunday was a bit hectic with giving the kids breakfast, baths for the kids, showers for Will and I and then getting everyone dressed in nice clothes and a non-messy snack and then we were off to Rhode Island for lunch with Will's dad's side of the family at a nice restaurant. It was fun meeting Will's aunt and cousins and seeing the family I've already met. The kids were loaded up with more chocolate and sweets to bring home and Will and I even got an easter present from his step-mom! Lunch was delicious and very filling. I decided to have a little dessert and ordered a strawberry shortcake hoping to go for a lighter choice. Little did I know...IT WAS HUGE!! It came in a wine-glass shaped dish that was 5 inches tall and 5 inches diameter and was overflowing with whipped cream and strawberries. I wasn't the only one to order dessert and we were all amazed how huge the desserts were! We decided to split the desserts and even still we weren't able to finish everything.

With full bellies and having plenty of stories to share (Will and I were forced to sit apart...we survived somehow and were happy that we could still chat with each other from 10 feet apart by signing) we headed home. The kids were sleepy but trying stay awake. William's method was by smacking his head and pulling at his eyelids. I was laughing so hard at him. Kayla and I read from the Little House in the Big Woods. I borrowed the series from mom to read with Kayla. Reading to kids is so important even after they can read themselves! It helps them expand their thinking, vocabulary, progress quicker in reading and writing and not to mention the bonding time! Kayla LOVES the book and is excited to finish this book to move onto the next. We're on Chapter 6 so far and we had just started on Saturday! I told her she has to wait for me to come back on Friday to continue reading : ) I love having this time with her and don't want someone else taking over "my" time.

P.S. I started moving boxes down to Brattleboro and the divorce is final!
