Yesterday was my first day subbing at the daycare and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The other teachers were very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The kids of course bonded very quickly and one little girl after her nap came right over to me to hold her. Her normal teachers were in the room so I was surprised but didn't complain. During my break I went into the director's office which is also the "break room". Her name is Karen and is the one that hired me. She asked me how it was going and another woman, named Chelsea, came in for a minute and Karen said that she needed to speak to the both of us. And then she asked me to start full time on Monday working with Chelsea in the Toddler room. I quickly agreed. Apparently there is a sub in there now and an assistant teacher and Chelsea has been doing all the work. I'll be co-head teacher with Chelsea and that's just fine with me! Karen explained that I've had more schooling in early childhood than everyone else but most of them have been working there a long time.
