Christmas

Christmas was really relaxed and a big change from Christmas in the past for me. Dan had to work both Christmas Day and Wednesday, so we planned on spending both days just hanging out at the apartment. We woke up early and exchanged gifts. After Dan went to work and I took a shower, I took the dogs on a long walk. Since there weren't many people skiing or snowboarding, we headed up one of the trails. That's one of the benefits of living at a ski resort; they pack the trails so if you don't have snowshoes then you don't have to trudge through deep snow if you want to walk through the woods.
Because Dan and I are so poor, we decided to give gingerbread houses to his family as presents. Yesterday Mikhaela came over with a friend to help me make them and to also make one for herself. Her friend is from Peru and was very confused about what gingerbread houses were. The only thing we could think of to say was that it was a type of cookie and you make a house out of it. For my first year of making gingerbread houses, I don't think that I did too bad. Dan and I have bigger and better ideas for next year's gingerbread houses. I think I'm going to try to continue on the family tradition.

Where are the pictures?! We need pictures of your creations. That's one family tradition that Sarah and I haven't continued. Maybe we should, especially with Abigail.
