Fun on the Mountain

Today Dan's mom, step dad, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew came up to go skiing/snowboarding at the resort where we live and Dan works. It was SO busy! Dan went to the rental area around 8:30 to pick me up a snowboard (we want to make sure I really like it before spending the money on my own equipment) and he came back, without the equipment, saying that the line was already ridiculously long. The mountain was packed all day and then a fresh wave of people arrived for the night skiing/riding. It was such a nice day to be outside snowboarding! Even though the high was only 36, the wind was at a minimum and the sun was out. I actually was sweating in my regular winter gear and had to take off a layer.
Dan's nephew is 2 and tried skiing for the first time today. He did a lot better than some people would their first time and was able to keep his skis apart for the most part. He loved skiing so much that even the bribe of going home to watch a new movie couldn't persuade him to take off his skis. There were a lot of children learning to ski/snowboard on the mountain. I was impressed at the skill that they have already at a young age. There was quite a few children 3-4 years old skiing down the mountain, taking small jumps, and being able to steer wherever their parents told them to go.
I keep wanting to take pictures of me and Dan snowboarding but am afraid that the one time either of us have the camera we'll take a spill that happens to destroy the camera. We'll have to persuade one of our friends to bring their camera, take pictures of us and then send us the pictures : )
