We got to his dad's house early so I could meet them in a more relaxed sort of atmosphere and I immediately felt welcome. I offered to help and was put to work making artichoke dip (YUMMY!). Funny enough when Will offered to help his step-mom shooed him away. Mary, Will's step-mom, is very friendly and I had a lot of fun talking to both her and Will's adopted sister, Elizabeth. Will and his dad caught up and Will helped him get other things ready.
I think the best part was how people reacted to me. After being introduced around and the party was going, people (usually women) would come over to me and ask me more about myself and my relationship with Will. Usually it would start as "So how long have you known Will?" to which I would reply "2 weeks!" and then it would be followed by awkward silence and a quiet "oh...". BWAHAHA! Will is pretty proud that his son introduced the two of us and Mary told people that William had "good taste" :D
We're planning on me going down to visit him next week (he even offered to come and get me) so I'll hang out with him and the children for a few days. I'll be sleeping somewhere else so as to not rush anything, but have been promised many fun activities with the children. I'm looking forward to it! : )

Wow! What a fun first date! I'm not much for following the "rules" either. Way to go!
How 'bout sharing the love and passing on that recipe for artichoke dip? :)
