Driving

Because of my school schedule and classes, I often find myself driving either at sunrise or at sunset. I wish that I could take a picture with my eyes, or that it could actually be considered a sane thing to pull over on the interstate to take a picture of the beauty of the snow covered mountains with the glorious colors painting the sky. I've always loved the sunset and for awhile would try to walk down to the lake every day to take a picture of it, but the sunrise I usually missed (happily) because I was sleeping in.
This morning the sky was covered with gray and the valley full of fog. It was so amazing though. I felt that I was in this protected place, cut off from the rest of the world. A wall seemed to have been placed just beyond the next mountain. I really wanted to just turn around and stay in the sanctuary of the mountain for the day.
School is going pretty well. My mentor teacher told me that I could have my literacy group put on a play that is in their reading primers. My kids were SO excited. The play is the 3 little pigs. An oldie but a goodie. It's amazing how excited the children get when it involves dressing up and performing for their peers. Maybe its about them being the only ones in the class that get to do this. Thursday is the 100th day of school (for the Elementary school). Everyone is excited. They have a parade and do activities involving 100. One great thing is that means that we have less time in the morning for lessons which means I don't have to plan as many lessons!

I wish we still did fun celebrations like that.
