Snow day!

Today started off horrible. I didn't sleep well, woke with a headache, and when I checked the computer for closings, my elementary school was still open. I took a shower, ate breakfast, got dressed and checked again. Still open. It was getting close to the time for me to go so I started refreshing the browser every 2 minutes. Then it happened. Not closed but delayed for 2 hours! Since I'm only there until 11, it was pointless for me to go. So I had the morning off. And because it is still snowing, I decided to skip my two classes today, making it a full fledged snow day! And what better way to spend a snow day when you live on a ski mountain? GO SNOWBOARDING!!!!! There is no one here because the roads are pretty bad so all this nice 9 inches of powder was relatively untouched when Dan and I took our first few runs this morning. Riding in powder is really cool, but becomes a problem if you get stuck. Unlike skis, you have to get the whole board up and moving out of the powder, while leaning back in order to get going. Not the easiest of tasks for a beginner like myself. I'm learning to just ride the powder quickly and not go so slow. It feels SO good to go snowboarding again. I haven't gone since the beginning of January because of school and homework. Hooray for snowdays!!
