Dogs gone wild...
When we bought the new kennel we were ecstatic. We thought of all the many things we could do, spur of the moment, without having to worry about cleaning and if Sam would find something to chew on. Yesterday Dan and I both went to town, leaving the dogs behind both placed in a separate kennel. We did some errands, I went clothes shopping for more teacher clothes, and then we met up with some friends. We stayed out later than we had planned, and arrived home to Maple free of her kennel. We had put her in the smaller one because she had been pooping in the bigger kennel. She taught us. She busted through a small carabiner that we put on the kennel to keep the side attached, pooped on the floor, peed on the futon, and ate the cat food. Luckily Maple doesn't have the drive to eat things that Sam would because everything of ours was intact. Sam, probably because Maple had gotten free, attempted to escape from her kennel. Her nose has a few scratches on it, and the kennel, the one we bought less than 3 weeks ago, is now bent in the front underneath the door. Our dogs are so stubborn and determined to be free of their kennels I think it turns them into wild beasts, willing to endure cuts on their noses, abuse their bodies in breaking free of their metal cells, what are we going to do?
