Surprisingly, it took them a long time to dig in and start eating the rawhide. They carried them around all night and guarded them. It wasn't until the next morning that Maple started ripping into it. Sam started pouting. I'm not sure if she thought that Maple got rawhide and she didn't realize that her bone was actually rawhide, or what, but we have yet to see Sam tear into a whole bone on her own. Maple has chewed through the bones, creating multiple pieces. So out of the kindness of our hearts, we've been giving those pieces to Sam to try to make her feel better.
