I've been to visit my classroom and find the kids entertaining and the teacher to have a great connection with the kids. She has a habit of singing random things to the kids and the kids respond really well to this. For example, she might sing "it's time to wash our hands now", not to any particular song, but just in a sing-song voice. Yesterday was an introductory day and I only stayed for about an hour. Tomorrow is the real deal. My mentor teacher, the one in the classroom, Carol, asked me to arrive at 7:30. I'm hoping that this won't be an everyday thing. I'm only supposed to be in there from 8-11, and while I don't mind the extra commitment, this does mean I have to wake up at 5:30 in order to arrive on time, looking presentable. Which they told us means dressing up a bit. They said no jeans or sweatshirts. I still need to go shopping...I attempted to shop online but its hard figuring out if the color really looks good on you, what it really looks like, etc. Maybe this weekend I'll break down and go to town and do some shopping.
