It has been a hectic week! I just got back from a week visit in Brattleboro. Will and I decided it would be a good time for me to come and really get to know the kids since I am on holiday break still. I was nervous about how the kids would react to me being there around their dad, and was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with open arms by not only William but by Kayla too! I immediately felt like part of the family (possibly because I was woken up by a crying child at 1 in the morning?) and felt very comfortable. I offered to keep the kids home from daycare one day so we could hang out and get to know each other and it went really well! Kayla even asked me if I could marry her dad : ) I think she likes me. Kayla and I had several chats about what our relationship would be as Will and I continue to see each other. We decided it would be really good friends. This way she can feel in control of the relationship but know that I'm always there for her. Will got left out of these conversations since Kayla would usually corner me away from her dad to ask me questions but I tried to fill him in so he'd know what she was thinking. Hopefully everything continues to go well!
Will and I were able to have some dates when his ex had the kids for the night and it was fun getting to know him better. One of our dates was going to Northampton, Mass to go out to dinner with a couple of his friends. We even toured around in some of the stores there and I bought a new coat. Something a little more dress-up for my "teachery" look.
Will definitely impressed me right off the bat by buying me flowers on his way home from work and picking up the kids and told William to give them to me. Very sweet : )
I took a whole bunch of pictures and even let Kayla take pictures too. She took pictures more of the house and when we were driving around Brattleboro so I could show my family what Brattleboro looked like : ) I made an online album using Picasa of some of the pictures that were taken. I took out the house shots but let me know if you want to see them : P
